David Munro, BScKin, BHscPt

I have 20 years experience as a registered Physiotherapist, working with a variety of conditions in many different environments across several provinces in Canada. I am also an Acupuncturist, registered with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario.

Growing up on a small rural farm, I developed a strong sense of the importance of good nutrition and exercise. Being a very active person has lead me to get involved with many different sports teams and organizations over the course of my career and has exposed me to cutting edge therapy techniques and equipment.

Although historically much of my practice has been in sports therapy and rehabilitation, the culmination of many different experiences throughout my 20 years of practice has lead me to approach each client in a very holistic manner.

As a physiotherapist I treat people of all ages with injuries or conditions ranging from sprained ankles to concussions. Pre and post surgical conditions as well as general pain conditions can be improved with an individualized physiotherapy treatment program.

My physiotherapy treatments commonly involve various manual therapy techniques, osteopathic techniques, and exercise prescription. I have a strong background in nutrition and general wellness, which can be integrated to provide a more complete therapeutic experience.

My background in acupuncture has been mostly in traditional Chinese medicine. However, I also use some Japanese and medical acupuncture techniques.

As an acupuncturist, I treat all types of injuries and pain conditions, but also many common medical conditions and illnesses. Treatments may consist of; inserting very fine needles into specific locations throughout the body, Cupping, Tunia, and Qigong to provide the therapeutic effect. There are many different acupuncture philosophies and techniques that I may draw upon during the course of treatment.

Possessing dual licenses in Physiotherapy and Acupuncture, and also having a strong interest in applied kinesiology, muscle testing and energy medicine allows for a very integrative look at health and wellness.

I look forward to providing each and every client with a unique, holistic and effective treatment to improve their health.

David practices modern techniques while continuing to expand his scope of practice including: Acupuncture, IMS (Intra Muscular Stimulation), Concussion Testing & Management, Soft Tissue Manipulation, Joint Mobilization & Manual Therapy Techniques, Sports Therapy, Cranial Sacral Therapy.
