What is Acupuncture and it’s benefitsseveral-needle-for-acupuncture-are-adjacent-traditional-chinese-alternative-medicine-LSWC

Acupuncture involves inserting very thin needles into special points on your body that are chosen based on your individual health concerns. Most people expect needles to be quite painful; however, the needles are extremely thin. You may feel a slight pinch upon insertion of the needles or nothing at all. Once the needles are inserted, most people experience a deep sense of relaxation and many fall asleep.

The benefits of acupuncture include rebalancing energy, increased relaxation, improved circulation, pain reduction, reduced healing time, and decreased muscle tension. Acupuncture can treat a wide range of conditions including headaches, insomnia, digestive disorders, menstrual irregularities and PMS.

Here at LSWC, two of our practitioners provide acupuncture treatments.

Dr. Amelia Croll Naturopathic Doctor

David Munro  Acupuncturist

David is registered with the College of Traditional Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario. David’s background in acupuncture has been mostly in traditional Chinese medicine. However, he also uses some Japanese and medical acupuncture techniques.

Acupuncture may be covered by some health care benefits – may we suggest you check your benefits insurance policy to see if you qualify.
